Khalil Manaf Hegarty
Khalil is a company director and experienced policy professional with expertise in international trade policy, sustainability and certification standards. He has more than 15 years' experience in Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia advising government and private sector on trade, supply chain, commodities, agriculture and sustainability.
He has experience advising government, organisations and business on technical and policy issues arising from trade, international trade agreements and sustainability in the Asia-Pacific Region. Clients have included the Viet Nam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Trade, Indonesian Forest Certification Cooperation, the Indonesian Palm Oil Association, the Malaysian Palm Oil Council, Korean Forest Certification Council, Asia Society, Australian Food and Grocery Council, APEC Study Centre Australia, Trade and Investment Queensland, the Papua New Guinea Forest Industries Association, Dairy Australia, Minerals Council of Australia, International Tropical Timber Organization, and numerous businesses operating in the Asia-Pacific region.
Alan Oxley
Alan is a distinguished figure in the realm of international trade and economicsas the Chair of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the predecessor to the World Trade Organization (WTO). His leadership in this role was marked by a steadfast commitment to promoting free trade and reducing trade barriers globally. Prior to his chairmanship at the GATT, Oxley served as an Australian diplomat, which included a significant stint as Australia's Ambassador to the GATT during the pivotal Uruguay Round of trade negotiations.
With a career that spans several decades, Oxley has been a vocal advocate for liberalizing trade, leveraging his extensive experience and insights to influence policy and debate. Following his tenure in public service, he founded ITS Global, a consultancy specializing in international trade, sustainability, and globalization issues, where he continues to provide expert analysis and advice to governments, international organizations, and private sector entities.
